About

I’m a part-time pipe maker based in South Lincolnshire, England. Having initially studied woodturning, I began making pipes in 2020 and became passionate about the multi-disciplinary nature of briar and ebonite, form and function.

At first I journeyed through different styles, but I quickly found the greatest enjoyment in the traditional English and Danish shape charts, although I really enjoy contemporary freehand styles too.

My pipes are all made from either Greek or Italian briar, and premium German ebonite. I like to use a number of different accent materials: boxwood, horn, mammoth tusk, Fordite, antler, bronze and brass, and all my silverwork is handmade (I don’t use pre-made rings).

My pipes are either lathe-turned or made freehand (shaped first and drilled second). When lathe-turning, chambers are usually bored rather than drilled, allowing an almost-infinite number of chamber sizes and profiles. All airways are drilled to 4mm. Stems are hand-cut to 4mm thickness behind the button and the slot is funnelled to allow an effortless draw.

You can find a bio about me at Fumeurs de Pipe.

Blue Room Briars also stock my pipes.
